Todd Bradlee moved to Bishop, CA from Boston, MA for
his passion of rock climbing and brought with him his love and natural
talent for woodcrafting.
Todd began his career as a carpenter at the age of 18 and has evolved on this path to building custom furniture. Todd blends his artistry with precision and attention to detail. His innovative style and keen eye for domestic and exotic woods along with practical knowledge and experience allows him to construct each unique piece of furniture with the highest standard of quality. His designs are one of a kind.
"Much of my inspiration comes from the world around
me, the world within me and the interplay between the two. I find that
I am constantly inspired by my surroundings in nature and by other
artists past and present. In the fall of 2004 I was fortunate to share
space with the Fort Point Cabinetmakers in Boston, MA. This afforded
me a valuable opportunity to work among and learn from these
experienced and talented woodworkers. However, to borrow a quote from
a fellow woodworker, Gary Spykman, I would label myself as 'self
educated' as opposed to 'self taught.' I prefer the former because it
reminds me that all of the great masters before me and those who are
currently around me have all contributed to my skills and knowledge as
a woodworker. "
Todd's passion for wood and rock climbing has
led him to travel all around the world. He spent four years in France,
observing the old fashion way of furniture making, and he traveled through
the Middle East, Australia, and all over the States, always with his sketchbook in his pocket, drawing new designs. His work is inspired by all the cultures he encounters, and his love for Asian art.
